Minna's Haus was built in 1876 and is the original homestead on the property settled by German immigrants. Lovingly restored, Minna's Haus is a cozy two-story rock house filled with history. Admiral Chester Nimitz's aunt babysat for him in this house when he was two years old. The house contains many antiques and period pieces yet also provides all the conveniences of modern day living.
Minna's features two bedrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs, each with a comfy queen sized bed. The upstairs also has a sitting room with a TV and a futon couch that can be used for an additional sleeping area. The upstairs has a balcony porch where guests can sit and gaze at the Texas stars.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, full size refrigerator, coffee pot, and toaster for those who want to relax and eat in the comfort of home. A continental breakfast, including pastries and cereal, is provided. The refrigerator is also stocked with condiments, juice, milk, and our own farm fresh eggs. The living room has two sleeper sofas and HDTV with local and Dish channels and a DVD player. It also has an electric fireplace which can be viewed from the bedroom, creating a romantic atmosphere and offering warmth in the wintertime. The luxurious bathroom has a full-size stone shower and a romantic Jacuzzi bathtub for two.
Minna's covered front porch overlooks the barn and the ranch animals. It provides a perfect setting for drinking coffee as you watch the sunrise or enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. It has an enclosed yard with a BBQ pit for outdoor cooking. An outside fire pit is perfect for campfires or making s'mores.
