The River Road Ranch Resort in Fredericksburg TX invites guests to step back in history. The original ranch structure was built by German settlers in the 1890s and the new structures were all constructed to replicate buildings from the past, including a General Store, a Feed Mill, and a Bunkhouse.

Proprietors Barron and Natalie Smith have lovingly combined their vision, artistry, and energy to create a tranquil and historic setting on their riverfront ranch. They take great pride in providing their guests with a unique combination of luxury and history in a pastoral setting. It is their desire that all who stay at the ranch will relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings in harmony with nature. Their philosophy is "Come as strangers, leave as friends."

Barron and Natalie got their start in the lodging business in 1999 when they completed their first project, the Cotton Gin village; seven completely restored log cabins surrounding a five star restaurant. Their next projects, the Livery Stable and the Grist Mill Bed and Breakfasts were completed in 2003 and continued their goal to provide lodging that was also historic. Their dream to have a working farm and ranch began in 2007 when they bought the ranch on River Road and began to develop their vision. They have already built two bed and breakfasts in a frontier town setting. The third and most unique lodging, the Silo, will be opening in the summer.
