One of the most unique bed and breakfast experiences in the state of
Texas, the Silo represents a piece of Texas history and provides a
cozy get-away retreat. Built in 1921, the structure was originally
used as a 10,000-bushel peanut silo in Fredericksburg. The Smiths
moved it to the ranch in 2008 and began its restoration. While the
exterior still appears to be a rustic Silo, you will be amazed at
its transformation when you step inside. A two-story loft style bed
and breakfast, the Silo is a perfect romantic setting for two or
spacious enough for four. The downstairs features a living room with
a queen-size sleeper sofa, fireplace, flat screen television, and
half bath. The kitchen is equipped with a mid-sized refrigerator,
coffee pot, and toaster. A continental breakfast including cereals,
pastries, fruit, coffee, milk, and juices is provided. A spiral
staircase leads up to the bedroom, which houses a luxurious
queen-sized pillow top bed. A unique skylight can be opened to
illuminate the room during the day or to gaze at the bright Texas
stars in the evening. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub for two, a
relaxing way to end your day. The covered front porch overlooks the
Fredericksburg countryside and the Pedernales River. It provides a
perfect setting for drinking coffee as you watch the sunrise or
enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. The outdoor fire pit is perfect
for campfires, cooking, or making s’mores.
Rates for the Silo are $155 per night for double occupancy with a
two night minimum on weekends; $30 per night for each addition
person, $30 per night for each pet.
